So as mentioned before, the main ingredient in this product is a bit novel since it's actually collagen taking from pig's skin. To be honest, growing up in a pretty traditional Chinese household, there's little that really surprises me anymore when it comes to nutrition, health and skincare. I grew up eating frog's legs ('to help me swim better'), chicken feet ('to help me run faster') and cow's tongue (just 'cause it tasted good) to name a few, and when I had a cold or any other ailments, my dad would conjure up some, pretty horrible tasting, Chinese medicine for me instead of taking me to the doctor. Now I know that pig trotters are good for our complexion because it is high in collagen, which is exactly what the product today is aimed at replenishing.
Collagen is the protein in the epidermis which helps our skin to retain water and increase elasticity. In other words, collagen is key to maintaining youthful looking skin as collagen production slows down after we pass our 20's. To cater for those who want to try and keep their youthful looks (aka. the majority of all women), many companies have come up with collagen related products like creams, serums, masks and also dietary supplements in powder, liquid and pill forms.
The reason why I have also hopped onto the collagen bandwagon is because I feel that my skin can get very dehydrated and I'm also a firm believer in prevention over cure so I guess it can't hurt to get started on maintaining my skin early rather than have to worry about wrinkles later ;D On top of this, I felt that my skin was already slowing down in collagen production because towards the end of the day, if I had been smiling or laughing, I would get smile lines (!!!) Maybe it's because I haven't eaten collagen replenishing foods lately, I guess I will have to really scarf down more pig trotters when I go back to Hong Kong later this month :D
I bought this for $18.95 at W Cosmetics, but if you are looking to buy it online, I would suggest that you use more trustworthy websites like www.w2beauty.com or by searching it up on Gmarket since there are a lot of fakes floating around these days due the popularity of this product in Asia.
I found a list of the main ingredients in this product on a website called Koredepart which I have included below ↓↓↓
Main ingredients: Collagen peptide 50,000mg, Adenosine, Bean fermentation extract, Macadamia seed oil, Cacao seed extract

The product I want to review today is something that some people may find a little weird because of the ingredients used. But this is definitely not just a novelty item. After I had used this pack for a few weeks I started shamelessly promoting it to anyone and everyone who would listen (hahaha), and went out to buy more for my mama and my sister as well (and I'm now onto my second one)! Hopefully that has caught your attention ;P
How to use: After cleansing and toning (plus any other skincare steps before eye cream and/or moisturizer) your face in the morning or night simply scoop a small amount (photo 5) with the spatula provided and apply your face. I usually first put the product onto the back of my hand before spreading onto my face (photo 8).
Even though its a mask pack, there's no need to wash it off like a sleeping mask. And I actually like to have put this on under my moisturiser before I put on my BB cream because I feels like it helps the BB cream/foundation/powder to 'stick' on better (a bit like a primer).
Now I know everyone has busy lives and want to know whether this is worth getting or not, so for those who are keen on getting straight to what I think of the product, here are the pros, cons and overall thoughts.
Pros
1. Price is extremely reasonable considering how well the product works. I'm sure there are man products more expensive than this which make similar claims but does not work as well.
2. I've really seen a big improvement in my complexion after using this continuously
3. No need to wash off which is great for lazy people like me ;P
4. Suitable for all skin types, even those with sensitive skin like mine!
Cons
Can't really think of any cons haha, if I think of any I'll update this post later.
Overall thoughts: If I was rich and rolled around in money everyday, I would literally just buy truckloads of this and give it to anyone and everyone who wanted to try this product because I really think that it's great. HONEST UNSPONSORED WORDS! And maybe some people who have tried it don't think its THAT great, but in my opinion, its 대박 :D
Now onto the full review.
