Since I am quickly approaching the end of my short but sweet Easter Vacation (edit: by the time I got around to finishing and posting this, my holiday was long gone :'O), I thought I would just post a little update on my recent(ish) happenings and my latest beauty related acquisitions.
The past three weeks has probably been the most fruitful three weeks of my life in terms of obtaining new 'toys' and experimenting with beauty related services.
For my birthday this year, my friends decided that they were going to be a little crazy and get me pretty much everything that I had that been on my wishlist. I don't know why were so extravagant, but I know that I am so lucky and that I will be very broke trying to match what they got me when their birthdays come around...
I had been eye-ing the Tom Ford counter for AGES and literally swatching their lipsticks and spraying their perfume/cologne every time I was at David Jones (such a loser), and I fell in love with the Jasmin Rouge perfume and two of their lipsticks; Insidious and Flamingo.
For my birthday, my friends bought me both of the lipsticks (!!!) and I decided to get the perfume as my 'birthday present' to myself. The obsession has begun. Tom Ford, have mercy on my wallet...
I was also given the They're Real Eyeliner by Benefit, the Dr. G Blemish Balm, and the Love Lettuce Fresh Face Mask from LUSH (Pretty much a H.G product for me) <3
During the Easter long weekend, I went down to Sydney to visit the boyfriend, but I wanted to look a tad less zombie-like so I wouldn't scare him off after sleepless night slaving away doing university assignments... So about a week before my trip, I decided to get eyelash extensions! I am officially converted. I never ever want to be without my eyelash extensions again... without them, my life will be incomplete! At first I was a little worried because I had heard of some stories that made me a bit anxious... Also, my eyes (like the rest of me) are quite sensitive so I was nervous that getting them would make my eyes really irritated. But one day when I was talking to Linda (
W Cosmetics), I mentioned how I had been curious about eyelash extensions for ages, and she suggested that I go and try them out at her store. I swear she has thought of everything! Not only does W Cosmetics sell Korean and Japanese skincare and cosmetics, they also offer makeup, hair, nail, facial, eyebrow and eyelash extension services! I don't know how she keeps track of everything (real life superwoman...).
Anyway! So I rocked up to her store and she took me into a little room separated from the rest of the store where the facials and eyelash extensions are done. I thought it would hurt, I braced myself for some sort of stinging/discomfort. But nothing happened! I literally almost fell asleep hahaha ;P After about an hour, I was told that I could open my eyes, and when I looked in the mirror, I almost cried. I FINALLY HAD EYELASHES! OK, so I'm probably being just a bit dramatic, but I have suffered from short eyelashes my whole life. And it really makes a difference! I looked so much more awake and my eyes are definitely more defined. Plus, it has totally helped me with getting my double eyelids in order so I haven't needed to use double eyelid tape after getting the extensions! Also got my nails done there a few days later because there were having a sort of giveaway, so I got to get gel nails done for free! Thank you Linda! <3
While I was in Sydney, I met with an Amore Pacific representative to collect the Hera products that I had ordered from her beforehand. She was super nice and gave me so many samples and other little presents! Worlds apart from the cold attitude that the ladies at the Hera counter in Myeongdong had given me while I was in Seoul in December... Unfortunately, the lady doesn't ship interstate, so I guess I was lucky that I had a trip to Sydney planned anyway so I could just go and get supplies! (If you would like to contact her and order something, let me know and I will give you her contact details :D)
As part of my birthday present from my boyfriend, he took me on a shopping trip (thank you darling xoxo), so I headed straight to Mecca Maxima, since they recently started selling Urban Decay (thank the heavens), and got myself the Naked 3 palette and the All Nighter Setting Spray. Got a few other things as well from a few other stores... I actually used my shopping trip as like a kind of replenishing trip(?) and stocked up on Bioderma Crealine H2O and my all time favorite Malin&Goetz lipbalm which I included in my 'routine' post. This time I decided to try out the 'Mojito' version.
After coming back, I some masks to help calm down my skin which has been acting very irrationally lately. I am putting the blame on university assessment because it has made me eat junk food all the time and become sleep deprived. My all time favourite mask brand is still Leaders Insolution because their masks are actually AMAZING! The Leaders Insolution one that I wanted to get is called AC-Dressing, which is really good for redness and breakouts. Since I couldn't find that anywhere (!!!), I just got the Mediheal equivalent also called AC-Dressing and give it a go. FINGERS CROSSED!
As always, thanks for reading my beauties! Look forward to many future posts featuring these new acquisitions :D And stay tuned for a review that will be coming very very very soon (I promise)!
